Mie instan kerap dianggap tidak bagus untuk kesehatan tubuh. Padahal, makanan cepat saji ini bisa menjadi makanan yang baik untuk tubuh asalkan proses pemasakannya dilakukan dengan benar.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Hardinsyah, Ketua Umum Pehimpunan Pakar Gizi dan Pangan Indonesia, mengatakan bila dalam menikmati mi instan haruslah diberi bahan tambahan sehingga makanan yang dikonsumsi jadi lebih baik. "Menikmati makanan apapun, termasuk mi instan, maka di dalamnya harus diberikan bahan makanan tambahan. Hadirkan pula protein, karbohidrat, vitamin, dan mineral supaya badan tetap sehat," ucapnya kepada Okezone usai peluncuran Indomie taste of Asia di Jakarta, Rabu (13/11/2013).


Penggunaan mi instan cukup disesuaikan dengan selera saja. Sementara untuk airnya, bagi yang ingin menikmati sajian mi instan berkuah, maka Anda bisa mengganti airnya.

"Penggantian air ini hanyalah bersifat ingin lebih bersih saja. Yang penting diperhatikan bukan pemakaian airnya, tetapi penggunaan bahan makanan pada mi instan," bebernya.

Pada saat memasak mi instan, maka beri tambahan bahan lainnya, seperti sayuran, telur, daging, keju, tomat, mentimun, dan sebagainya sesuai selera Anda. Ketika Anda hanya menikmati mi instan tanpa diberi bahan tambahan lainnya, ujar Prof Hardinsyah, maka kenikmatan dalam menyantapnya pun berkurang. Selain itu, gizi tubuh menjadi kurang terpenuhi.

Prof Hardinsyah menambahkan, dalam proses pemasakan mi instan harus diketahui tingkat kematangan setiap bahan makanan yang dipakai. Pasalnya, terlalu lama dimasak, maka nutrisinya akan menghilang.

"Untuk sayuran maupun bahan makanan yang sifatnya mudah matang, maka taruh pada akhir waktu memasak biar nutrisinya tetap didapatkan. Kalau tomat, Anda bisa gunakan sebagai topping saja," tutupnya.
